Green Teas
It is believed that drinking green tea may reduce heart disease and cholesterol. A recent research shows that after 14 days of drinking 4 cups of green tea per day, a group of aged 19-37 participants without changing their diet, has reported reduction in systolic and diastolic Blood Pressure, fasting total cholesterol, body fat and body weight.
Green tea contains polyphenols particularly catechins which are thought to improve health. Studies suggest that green tea can reduce the risk cardiovascular disease and cancer and have beneficial impact on bone density, cognitive function, dental cavities and kidney stones.
Green tea also contains carotenoids, tocopherols, vitamin C, minerals such as chromium, manganese, selenium or zinc, and certain phytochemical compounds.
